⚡ Origin of Wing Chun ⚡

👊 In May 1644, the Manchu army invaded Saan Hoi Gwaan. In June, they took over the city of Beijing, and the Ming army was defeated. The resistance did not stop there, as brave heroes rose up to fight against oppression 🔥.

🛡 Jeng Singgung, originally from Naam On, Fuk Gin, rose up to resist the Manchu army after his father, Jeng Jilung, surrendered. In 1662, Jeng Singgung died of illness. His younger brother, Jeng Jaap, clashed with the son of Jeng Singgung, Jeng Ging. Jeng Jaap led his subordinates to surrender to the Manchu army, while Jeng Ging continued to resist. After the death of Jeng Ging, his eldest son, Jeng Haakjoon, was killed by his younger son, Jeng Haaksong, who controlled the anti-Ching forces based in Taiwan.

✨ The Hong Hei Period ✨

👀 During the Hong Hei period, Si Long, a former anti-Ching general, betrayed and led the Ching army to attack Taiwan. Jeng Haaksong abandoned the resistance and surrendered to the Ching army in September 1683. From then on, the Ming dynasty army was completely defeated. The remaining soldiers who did not want to surrender retreated to Canton, were dissolved, and distributed among ordinary people, continuing the resistance against the Ching army. Some of the remaining soldiers exiled to Fuk Gin and Canton formed a clandestine organization called Hung Mun to take responsibility for the anti-Ching efforts 💪.

🌸 The Yung Jing Period 🌸

7 kingdoms

📖 During the Yung Jing period (1723-1735), a famous Northern opera singer named Jeung Ng went to Fat Saan to develop Cantonese opera and created King Fa Wui Gun, a guild for Cantonese opera. The King Fa Wui Gun was located in the village formerly known as Jung Yi, which is now near Hung Keung Street, San Tai Road, Jung Saan Park, and Fat Saan Yung 🌱.

🛡 The King Fa Wui Gun became the headquarters of the Heaven and Earth Society in Canton, a branch of Hung Mun. At that time, the red boats of Cantonese opera were gathering places for the righteous anti-Ching warriors 🛡⚡.

🌟 The 18th Century and Ng Mui 🌟

✨ At the end of the 18th century (1790), during the Kin Lung period, the anti-Ching righteous warriors, including Ng Mui, Ji Sin, Baak Mei Taoist, Miu Hin, and others, under the guise of Buddhists or Taoists, were active in Lo Fau Saan, Xiu Hing, and several temples. They left a legacy of courage and resistance against oppression 💖.

🌸 Ng Mui and Yim Wingchun 🌸

Ng Mui met the anti-Ching hero Yim Sei at Daai Leung Saan. Yim Sei had a daughter named Yim Wingchun. Ng Mui took her as a disciple and taught her combat techniques 🛡. The Heaven and Earth Society faced traitors, including Ma Ningngai, and Ng Mui decided to create a martial art to train Yim Wingchun to protect the society from future threats.

🔥 Later, Master Ji Sin taught Yim Wingchun the "six-and-a-half-point pole technique", making the pole a long weapon in the Wingchun system. Another member of the Heaven and Earth Society, Miu Hin, taught her the techniques of the double Taiping knives, which were later adapted into Wingchun 🗡.
